What is Zoho People?

Zoho People is an online Human Resources Management System that allows users to manage employee data. It offers essential HR functions such as time tracking, onboarding, and scheduling. Zoho People is highly customizable and designed to simplify HR processes. HR Managers can set up workflows to quickly address daily tasks or assign them to another employee. Zoho People also reduces the need for repetitive data entry. Document templates and instant field updates help the HR department maintain organized records. Zoho People's scheduler can be used to create emails and reports that are automatically sent to the proper recipients.

HR Management System

Zoho People centralizes employee information into a single database and improves communication between departments. The self-service feature allows employees to log time, apply for leave, and provide real-time updates to their team members. Zoho People also offers performance management, which allows employees to write peer reviews and set personal objectives. Zoho People is the HRMS software. Here, in our organization we track employees leaves, attendances, timesheet using Zoho people. It's very easy and user friendly. Employees birthdays, people who're all newly hired everything will be displayed to people. And there is a chat box integrated with this software so we can easily connect to people.

  • Fetch accurate location for Check-In and Out
  • In-app notification for clock-in and out
  • Dark mode can be implemented.
For a business requirement, I had a situation to connect with my higher authority. At that moment, I was able to fetch his contact number form the Zoho and easily contacted him. You can also check the whole organization's hierarchy start from CEO to the Ground level employee. And most importantly, Reminding me to clock-out. Most of the time, I'll set an alarm for the clock-out thing but with the help of the In-app notification it helps and works.

Zoho People is used in our Human Resources Department, managing about 15 employees in total. The system is only accessible to a few people and helps to keep all employee files in one space. This cloud based HRMS also helps to ensure access to information from a distance with Covid-19.
  • Data Management- It's useful to have all data related to HR in one space, especially using the cloud. Separating data into relevant categories also makes administrative work a breeze.
  • Employee Resources- Having a central place for employees to reach out to HR is ideal.
  • Customization- Creation of forms is especially useful for a growing business.
  • Integration- Integrates well with other systems.
  • Customer Support- Occasionally support response to questions can take a bit to get to the root issue, which can be frustrating from the technical side of running the system. However, the 24/7 availability is great.
  • Onboarding Features- Could use some improvements. Not as expansive as other Zoho People features.
Zoho People is very well suited to larger companies or companies that are working partly or exclusively online. It can take the place of your time-tracking systems which is a cost and time-saver since all information is in one, integrated place. If you have an HR team that prefers old-school paper tracking or if you have a smaller team this may not be a necessary system for you.

  • Reduces the need for additional systems like time-tracking, excess excel spreadsheets and even HR training itself with their training resources.
  • Streamlines assessment of data and categorizes leave, on-boarding and other data logically which decreases time spent searching and separating.
  • Customization of forms and surveys is extremely useful and saves effort looking elsewhere for templates.
  • Harvest
Harvest is a great way to track time as well as projects and project budgets. Zoho People is more encompassing of the HR side of things, and stores data all in one place which is a step above Harvest. Although Harvest does have the added feature of tracking projects which is extremely useful if your company would like integration with billing. There are pros to both, my opinion is that the better choice for HR management is definitely Zoho People, but Harvest is a great system for time AND project tracking in the same space. It is dependent on the preference of your HR team and how you like to conduct billing.

Zoho People has been a reliable human resource management software that allows us to manage all our employees in one platform.
It solves our workforce management issues because it allows us to store employees' data. We use it to manage attendances, leaves, and other issues concerning our workers. Therefore, it has been a very helpful software to our company.

  • The only problem I have with Zoho People is the slow support team. The support team takes too long to provide solutions or to answer questions.
Zoho People has been an amazing tool for us because it helps us in automating employee management.
Moreover, Zoho People is an excellent tool when it comes to tracking our employees' attendance and time. Therefore, it has been a helpful human resource management platform for our company. All its features suit us.

Zoho People is used as an auxiliary HR platform by our company. Although we would love to have Zoho People be our primary and sole HR platform, there are still some holes and UX issues that are preventing us from doing so.
  • Keeps employee info organized
  • Cool help/support ticket function
  • Potential for a lot of really cool employee data
  • Time off importing/functionality is difficult to navigate
  • Hiring/onboarding is not great at all
  • Overall UX is confusing
If you have a really small company and don't have a ton of HR needs, Zoho People works well. Otherwise, you'll need a more in-depth/robust HR platform like Zenefits to take care of everything you need.

  • Does not streamline our HR processes as much as we'd like
  • Overall UX is more difficult to navigate compared to other Zoho apps
We only use Zoho People because it is part of our Zoho One suite. We originally used Zenefits, which was great for hiring/onboarding, and we currently use Employee Navigator to manage benefits and PTO, which is much easier to use than Zoho People. As of now, Zoho People is very buggy when it comes to managing PTO and there is currently no real benefits management or onboarding process that's easy to use.

We are using Zoho People for filing and tracking human resources information as well as across the organization for tracking attendance. We have a fairly unique organizational structure in that all of our staff are self-supported, so most of us work other jobs and scheduling can be difficult. The time tracking feature of Zoho People has been really helpful for creating some accountability for time in the office. It's nice that that feature is part of a program we were already using (we also use Zoho Recruit for applications), and the app is great as well.
  • The time-tracking feature is really helpful, and it's great that you can use that feature from the app.
  • We also use Zoho Recruit for applications, so Zoho People was a logical choice for managing HR information for our staff and members, and the two integrate really well together.
  • We have had some trouble recently with getting new users set up. However, the support team at Zoho has been really responsive and helpful, so that's nice.
Zoho People is a great option for storing employee information, and for tracking time. Because of the nature of my organization and my role in it I haven't used all of the features, but the program is intuitive and aesthetically pleasing, and has worked well for our organization in the functions we have used it for.
  • For us, the time/attendance tracking function of Zoho People has done a lot to increase accountability for scheduling and attendance. Since we are a volunteer staff, scheduling can be difficult, and this has made it so much easier to quantify and track everyone's weekly time commitments.
